The reports of shots being fired in the City of Fremont Ohio has been increasing recently.
Shots were fired last Thursday October 17 at Washinton Street and Garrison Street in Fremont Ohio just before 10 P.M. Fremont Police responded to the call. According to the police report, police patrolled the area and did not locate anything.
We interviewed residents in the area. They said that there were people possibly arguing just before they heard shots fired. A pickup truck sped away from the area. They were not able to provide any description of the suspects involved or the pickup truck.
On Tuesday, October 22, Fremont Police were called to area of Ohio Avenue in the overnight hours for a report of shots fired. The report indicates the police searched the area and was unable to locate anything. Later during the day on Tuesday, a resident of Ohio Avenue contacted the police. The resident found gun casings in the area and thought it was from the shooting reported earlier. The gun casing was seized for evidence.
We recently reported a victim shot at 1253 Margene Drive on September 24th. According to police, the victim only had minor injuries.
A fourth shooting occurred at the Delaware Acres Apartments on Buchanan Street on Thursday September the 5th. There was an incident at Delaware Acres earlier that day were there was a large fight. No shots were fired in the first incident. In the second incident over 12 shots were fired. Police are unsure if it was part of the first incident. As far as police know, there was no one injured in the shooting. However, apartments, and vehicles were both struck by the bullets. Polce would not advise if they had a suspect or suspects for this shooting.
“We are very concerned about the rise in shooting and crime. We are thinking of moving to a safer city or rural area. The police and mayor have been too concerned with harassing citizens over loud construction equipment, that they are failing to prevent shootings and other serious crimes that are rising in Fremont Ohio.” said Fremont resident Richard Hobble.
Richard is referring to the use of Mayor Danny Sanchez of the Fermont Police to harass citizens of Fremont Ohio who are in the process of testifying against the city for recent false arrests. Fremont residents allege that Mayor Sanchez is directing Fremont Police Detectives Christian Ortolani and Dustin Nowak, Chief Derek Wensinger, and Officer Peter Bush to make false claims against certain citizens of Fremont.
“Police are harassing people for doing construction on their property claiming the construction equipment is loud and the citizens should get the speakers out of the construction equipment so it would not cause any noise.” said a Fremont resident.
We have the citizens stories in previous reports.
